Prague Center transformed into a place of dancing and singing.On Tuesday started the sixth Jarmark Folklore Festival of Prague 2009, which was launched by Indonesian students and lecturers from the University of Jakarta. Hundreds of artists came from the Czech republic and abroad.
Indonesians have recently performed at the folk festival in Pisek, wher they adopted a Czech song and immediately included it in their performances
Tuesday’s program also included folklore ensembles from China, Georgia, Russia and the Czech Republic. The aim of the show, according to the organizers is to introduce visitors to folklore from around the world. Performances on the stage were adorned with the flags of participating countries. Hundreds of folk dancers, singers and musicians from 33 domestic and foreign groups will perform in the city center until Sunday, the 30th August 2009.
Dancers, singers and musicians came to the festival from Congo, Cape Verde, Cyprus, Turkey, Slovenia, Italy, Bosnia and Kazakhstan. Most of the total of twenty rising Czech files from Prague.
In the stage at OvocnĂ˝ Trh visitors can get acquainted with traditional Czech crafts such as weaving, pottery, or wiring. Refreshments and food will focus on Czech cuisine.
