The Liber takes place every year and the host city is alternating between Madrid and Barcelona. This year the 29th edition of Liber 2011 will be from 5 to 7 October in Madrid’s FEMA space. Participants will be able to discover all the latest new features on the market and the national and international titles of the moment corresponding to more than 700 publishing companies and enterprises in 16 countries.
The surface available for the Liber event takes six pavilions, where you will have access to an uncountable amount of book and publications. During these days, the event will offer a complete program of speeches, meeting points, round tables and permanent stalls, in order to allow the participants get as much interesting information as possible. The leading public bodies and professional associations within the world of publishing, both national and international, will support and collaborate with the fair.
During the three days, the fair will open its doors from 10am to 7pm. Library staff, editors, suppliers, teachers, writers and translators, etc. will find very exciting materials and will be able to participate in discussions with other professionals in a state-of-the-art editorial celebration.
Promoted by the Federation of Publishing Guilds of Spain, Liber is the most important business forum for the Spanish and Latin American publishing industries and a key meeting-point for professionals to establish contacts and discover the entire range of opportunities offered by the up-and-coming international markets.
In addition to providing a trade event, Liber will also offer a trade forum featuring round-tables, papers and panels devoted to issues such as the new technologies and the e-book, the current state of education and reading, logistics and distribution and the ISBN as managed by the private sector, etc. More than 12,000 visitors attended the last edition of Liber, which represented an increase of 8% compared to the year 2009.
