El Rastro Market in Madrid

El Rastro de Madrid is the most popular open air flea market in the city. It is held every Sunday and public holiday during the year and is located along Plaza de Cascorro and Ribera de Curtidores, between Calle Embajadores and the Ronda de Toledo (just south of La Latina metro station).

Buen Retiro Park

The Buen Retiro Park is the largest park in Madrid, used to belong to the Spanish Monarchy until the late 19th century, when it became a public park. (read also Where is Madrid?)

Royal Palace of Madrid

The Palacio Real de Madrid is the official residence of the King of Spain, used for state ceremonies. The palace is on the site of a 9th-century fortress, constructed by Muhammad I of Cordoba and inherited after 1036 by the independent Muslim Taifa of  Toledo.
